As they say - when it rains...

You know, I really appreciate the old saying - when it rains, it pours. Here we were, thinking that we were seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I mean, check this out...

Crown molding! Up on the ceiling! Really! We did it!

I couldn't have done it without my pops.

Dad went all out on the painting too. I really hate painting trim too so a huge thank you to him!

We even got to the point of puttin' it all back together. Wow, it was nice to move the TV unit and couch back into place. We went from this...

To this...

And finally, to this...

But then, the rain started falling again. And where we least expected it. Poor Wifey had to call me at work today with quite a unique question. It went something like - "Is water supposed to drip out of the crown molding in the kitchen?" Um, excuse me? Yeah, I had to come home after that one. Seriously, WE JUST PAINTED THAT WHOLE ROOM!!!!!

There aren't words to really express how frustrated we are that we had to cut holes in our nicely painted wall and ceiling. I'll let the pics show it...

But, who can stay mad when this walked into the kitchen when I was just about to throw my ladder through the window?

Dude... just. Dude. That sucks. Did you find the leak, at least?

Well, two thumbs up for the awesome work, and...a giant baseball bat for smacking Mother Nature for this mess.

In a small sense, I suppose this discovery is better made now than for a slow leak to slowly rot all your hard work over the next 6 months.
