Closer and closer to normalcy

For the past year my dear wife has endured, at first patiently, then agitatedly (word?), and then finally, stoically, a huge home renovation project that basically made every room in our small home into a construction zone. If a room didn't have something directly related to the project in it it tended to house items displaced by the project. Basically, it was a mess of monumental proportions. Was??? Still is in many respects.

But, something wonderful happened last night. I am proud to say that there are absolutely no more tools in our bedroom. This might not sound like a big deal to some, but trust me, it is huge. A bedroom is supposed to be a place for healthy relaxation and sleep. It is a place to finally, at the end of a long day, be at peace. Our bedroom hasn't been in the same State, let alone the same ballpark as this in a long, long time. At various times we housed sheets of plywood and sheetrock, tools, ceramic tile, paint, electrical components of all shapes and sizes, wood trim, a bathroom door or two, bathroom furniture, at least three different bathtubs, a toilet or two, etc., etc., etc. Add to this three lovely children and two tired parents and you can start to understand the absolute lack of peacefulness and tranquility that was our bedroom. But NOW..... NO MORE TOOLS!!!! NO MORE WOOD!!!! NO MORE PAINT!!!!!! Our room isn't even close to clean, but at this point, unless we find a stray screwdriver or something under the bed, we are construction free.

Let the tranquility commence.

This is not to say that the project is done. We still have odds and ends to get for our bathroom, and the ceiling downstairs needs to be put back up, and the new vent for the fireplace needs to be installed, but we are within striking distance, and that makes me feel good. Damn good. Pictures will follow as soon as the project is fully completed.
