The Magic Kingdom taken over by robots
I had the opportunity to be a mentor to my school's FIRST robotics club. The national competition was held at Epcot Disney in Florida. I got to take Wifey and JAM along for the trip as chaperons and to have a LOT of fun for three days in Disney. JAM was a trooper on the plane - hamming it up for all the kids on the trip-
We all got hopper passes so they took off most days and met up with me at the end of the day when we got done with the competitions. One night we spent a good few hours at MGM where they had the Star Tours ride... of course we had to go on that! Although the ride itself was pretty lame the park did a great job of turning the area around the ride into a Star Wars wonderland! A little someone was beat by the end of the day.
During one of the mornings of the competition, while I was busy with the team, she did get to make a reservation to have breakfast with Pooh and his friends at the Crystal Palace... JAM just loved it!
One of the days we had a lot of free time so we spent the whole day at the Magic Kingdom. We road lots of rides, had a great time watching the parades. One of the coolest things we saw, and it was totally random as we were walking from one place to another, was this woman in costume, on stilts, dressed up like a tree. We were walking and a bunch of people were all stopped looking into the bushes and we couldn't tell what was going on. Being the cattle that we are, we stopped and tried to figure it out, looking right at this person, and then she moved. It startled the heck out of us! It was fantastic to then sit there and watch her do it to other poor schmucks (like we had been) as they walked up the path. Too funny, and one of the many strange things you see when you're down there.
We were really enjoying the Lion King performance until someone decided to pee out of his diaper and all over mommy's shoulders. And no, it wasn't me. The second pic below is right before said "accident" happened.
A final pic of my man and me at the competition site. He had a blast watching the robots play the game, and it was a ton of fun for me too.
